FAQ

We get lots of questions daily about why our shop is a different experience then most. So here we try to answer them as best we can!

  • Did you know that we are technically not a coffee shop but are zoned as a corner store or convenience store? It took some getting used to and we now love it the way it is! Seymour Heights zoning dictates that the space must be used primarily for convenience and grocery business with the option for other uses with small variances. This zoning then dictates the limited seating inside and as you can probably attest to on a busy Saturday our space fills up quite quickly. Our patio is one of the best East of Seymour and has plenty of seating and gathering options beyond what is allowable inside. Thanks for understanding.

  • There are so many great products on the market so it is always very difficult to make these decisions, but you can trust that we are doing so very thoughtfully.

We have three questions we ask ourselves when choosing products.

    Is it Local?

Is it Sustainable, or a sustainability story allowing folks to make better choices for themselves or the environment?

Is it something we are Stoked on! We try everything before we invest in sharing these products with our community. If it doesn’t meet the taste standards of our team then it won’t be on our shelves. The products we carry tend to be products we use at home and can't wait to share with you.

If you are a rep for a product or are a maker/producer yourself we kindly ask that you please complete the following Product Inquiry Form and we will respond to your request if we are interested. We receive many requests daily so this is the best way for us to manage people’s expectations and these inquiries. Thank you for considering US as a place for your incredible products!

  • A cruffin is croissant dough baked in a muffin tin and stuffed/piped full of deliciousness. We typically have ours stuffed with chocolate or lemon curd. These are made by our friends at Butterboom.

  • We don’t have a kitchen or facility to make our own food, but with enough notice we can work with you to order any of our baked goods, sandwiches and beverages, including coffee carafes for your next event. Please give us a call at the shop or send us an email hello@unitedstrangerscoffee.com to get this conversation started.

We have worked with real estate agents, school principals, kids parties and small community gatherings to offer these services. We look forward to working with you too!

  • In being the new kid on the block we are receiving many inquiries daily for fundraising and sponsorship donations. Christine comes from a fundraising and non-profit background as the previous Executive Director of the North Shore Mountain Bike Association. Giving back with intentional donations and developing relationships that include mutual support are what create thriving communities. Our giving is very focused on developing long lasting relationships, supporting marginalized communities, is hyper local and tends to be fun. Donation requests for silent auction items or gift cards will no longer be fulfilled. If your organization is interested in partnering on a fun event or wants to build awareness in our community please contact us. We would love to set up a meeting to get to know one another on a personal level. Let’s not be Strangers.

  • Yes AND all consumables are final sale, but we are happy to exchange or accept returns on all other non consumable items that are in the exact condition when purchased. As we don’t provide physical receipts, we strongly recommend inputting your information via phone number or email when prompted at the till.
